The Library: Helping you Discover, Connect and Innovate

Learning Services

Professional Librarians are here to help students in discovering resources for your research assignments.

Contact the Library and we will be happy to help you!

Make an appointment with one of our professional librarians and they will be glad to assist you with your information needs in areas such as:

  • Search strategy for researching a topic
  • Identifying the relevant resources to use
  • Providing instruction on using specialized databases
  • Advice on the various citation managers

Please book your appointment at least 1 working day in advance. Click here for instructions on how to book and attend your appointment.

The Librarians have curated relevant resources, created content in collaboration with your faculty, and compiled them as Course Subject Guides specific to your course needs. The aim is to help students discover quality resources that are relevant to their course and to develop the information literacy skills. The guides may be accessed from the Library website or within the course module on the learning management system.

The Course Subject Guides:

  • Link to electronic and print materials for course reading
  • Highlight research tools such as databases and websites relevant to the subject
  • Provide instructions and tips on conducting efficient and effective research
  • Guidance on citation styles and creating bibliographies and reference management tools like Mendeley and Zotero
  • Give quick contact links to the Library for assistance

The Library's role extends beyond the provision of resources. We incorporate purpose-driven facilities and programmes to support learning and allow gainful opportunities for students to acquire and apply transferable skills to areas outside of the formal curriculum. Students can make good use of the Library's facilities like the Media Studio and VR station and access to equipment like Robots and VR for their learning.
