This guide provides information about Open Educational Resources, or OER, including how to find and evaluate them.

OER Repositories

Instructors can find OER on various online platforms and repositories. The list below is not exhaustive, but it highlights some key starting points. Keep in mind that while most content in these repositories is freely available under Fair Use or with attribution, not all of it is licensed for modification.

Provides free and openly licensed textbooks Managed by BCcampus.

Launched by Launched by the California State University System and it offers a wide range of learning materials, including course modules, tutorials, videos, and assessments etc.

Provides a wide range of free educational resources including open textbooks. The platform allows to search by subject, educational level etc.

Provides access to the open textbooks produced by the institutions in Australia and New Zealand.

Offers free, peer-reviewed, openly licensed textbooks for a variety of subjects. The platform is part of Rice University.

Provides access to the open textbooks written by the faculty at State University of New York.

Provides access to a collection of openly licenced textbooks, hosted by the University of Minnesota.

A free repository including various types of resources such as open textbooks.
