The Ngee Ann Kongsi Library @SIT welcomes a new green initiative as part of our nation's drive towards the Singapore Green Plan 2030. In collaboration with Food, Chemical and Biotechnology (FCB), we would like to cultivate urban farming interests in the community by providing a space for farming activities. Through various programmes and activities, we aim to encourage food resilience by contributing back to the community. The Library provides opportunities for the community to experience growing hydroponic edible plants right in the heart of campus.
Two 4 tier hydroponics racks are situated near the Staff Lounge area at Level 2 of the University Resource Centre. Each tier can hold up to 32 plants. Each vegetation cycle takes between 4-6 weeks before you can harvest.
