Sustainability Think Tanks & Advocacy Groups 

 

Think tanks and advocacy groups conduct research and analysis to highlight specific issues and often engage in public outreach and education. As such, they frequently publish high-quality information and reports intended to raise awareness in their areas of interest. Ecosperity

A platform established by Temasek Holdings for engagement and advocacy in sustainability. It works with global leaders from the private and public sectors, academia and civil society to exchange views, share best practices and push the agenda on sustainable development.

Singapore Environment Council (SEC)

Established in 1995 as an independently managed, non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO), the SEC aims to influence thinking on sustainability issues and coordinate environmental efforts in Singapore and the region. It engages the community by formulating and executing a range of holistic programmes and also provides training and education for the people, public and private sectors through themed talks, experiential environment trails, and workshops. Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) 

Centred around ASEAN focused themes, the SIIA aims to deliver policy analysis in international affairs and on issues driving environmental sustainability. It organises an annual Singapore Dialogue in Sustainable World Resources, and also publishes commentaries and reports on topics related to sustainability such as green finance, haze issues, palm oil and sustainable infrastructure.

Sustainability in Singapore

A user engagement training programme created by Global Action Plan on behalf of the Building and Construction Authority and the Singapore Green Building Council. It aims to support organisations in Singapore to reduce their carbon impact, and improve their overall sustainability as well as employee well-being through behaviour change.

Women in Sustainability & Environment (WISE)

A registered Singapore society under the Registrar of Societies, WISE was officially launched in November 2021. It is the first women’s society in Singapore formed to focus concerted gender action towards Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 and UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The mission of WISE is primarily focused on SDG 12 – responsible consumption and production patterns.

An international institute for global sustainability that aims to promote a deeper understanding of the interplay between ecological systems and social and economic development in relation to sustainability.

Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership

Undertakes research to support innovation in sustainable business and policy practice. It focuses on six cross-cutting themes critical to the delivery of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: sustainable finance, economic innovation, inclusive development, natural capital, future cities and leadership.
