Proquest Ebook Central is an e-content aggregation platform. SIT Library acquires ebooks from this platform on a title-by-title basis for course reserve, reference, and for general reading.

No. of Concurrent Users: Unlimited, 3 users or 1 user, depending on the availability and the access model acquired by the Library. Number of users permitted is indicated next to the access URL in the catalogue record.

Online Reading: Supported

Print Limit: Yes. The print limit is indicated in the detail page.

Download Pages in PDF: This function allows you to download a chapter, page range, or single page as a PDF. The downloads are counted as part of the overall print allowances.

Offline Download:  The download information is indicated in the Detail Page.  Ebooks with 1 use license are disabled for offline download. For those ebooks with 3 users license, the first 2 copies of ebooks can be downloaded,and the last copy is reserved for online reading.

Loan Period:

Loan period varies from title to title. User has to check the information indicated in the "Availability" section for more information.

Download to Mobile Devices

iOS and Android users would need to download Bluefire Reader, which is free from the App Store and Google Play.

1. Download & Loans
   It lists the books you’ve downloaded or have on loan, and a reminder of how many days are remaining in the loan period.
2. Recently Viewed
   It displays up to 18 titles that you’ve recently viewed.
3. Annotated Books
   It lists the books that you have bookmarked, highlighted or added notes to.
4. Save to Bookshelf
   Organize your books into as many folders as you’d like.

►Full Download

1. Go to the Proquest Ebook Central website
2. Enter SIT Network login ID & PW.
3. Do a search for eBooks by typing relevant keyword(s) in the search box eg. anatomy
4. A list of books containing the word anatomy will be displayed.
5. Select the book that you would like to read.
6. Click "Full Download" from the left-hand panel in the Detail Page
7. To download "Adobe Digital Editions" if it's not installed on your device yet. Click "Done with this step" if you already have one.

• Click "Download Your Book" to download the ebook to your device. If there is an option of selecting loan period from the drop down menu, you may choose your preferred loan period.

►Chapter Download

1. Click "Chapter Download" from the left-hand panel in the Detail Page
2. Select Citation Style and Chapter to download. The total number of pages for the chapter to be downloaded shall not exceed the print/download limit.
3. Click "Open PDF" to download the selected chapter in PDF.

A:  Click "Print to PDF" from the Reader toolbar to print the selected pages in PDF.
