Professional Librarians are here to support academic staff in discovering resources for their research, using the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable) approach to manage research data, scholarly publishing advice and preservation of their research outputs.

• Providing instruction on using specialised databases
• Guidance for systematic searches for researching a topic
• Obtain articles and books that are not available in our collection through Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services
• Assistance creating customised alert services

• Advice with data management plan (DMP)
• Advice in areas of data management, standards, documentation and organisation to promote preservation and reuse
• Guidance on open access publishing and article processing charges (APC)
• Advice and training on the various citation managers to keep track of your sources and references
• Store and publish research outputs using SIT Institutional Research Repository (IRR)

Advice in monitoring and tracking your research impact to support funding applications through

• persistent identifier like ORCID ID, DOI
• related engagement metrics like times cited, the number of downloads, visibility in the news, etc.
