"All research projects must include a data management plan (DMP) that records the intention on how Research Data arising from the research project will be managed, stored, protected, used and shared. The DMP must be filed through the Project DMP and Data Store (PDDS) before the start of each new project and prior to funds being released. Unfunded applied research project undertaken by researchers which is likely to generate Research Data is strongly advised to be accompanied by a DMP."

There are various tools and checklists that can assist you with the DMP writing process. Check if your funder has any specific data management requirements or template for your use. If your funder has no specific requirements or your research is unfunded, you may use the SIT DMP Template.
