Sustainable development is about meeting the needs we have now, but ensuring at the same time that future generations will be able to meet their own needs. With this in mind, our approach to both teaching and learning at SIT should always consider the implications of sustainability. In this guide you will find resources relevant to sustainability at SIT. If you would like more links and resources added, please let us know.
In 2015, the Member States of the United Nations (UN) adopted 17 goals as part of a call to "end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere" over the next 15 years (The Sustainable Development Agenda).
These 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the UN serve as a useful reference to guide our thought processes and actions. Click on each image for more detail about each goal.
